Over the years, GCWAL has brought together practitioners, academics, researchers and organisational leaders at conferences dedicated to Work-Applied Learning for Change. These gatherings have served as a forum for sharing research findings, exchanging ideas, and building connections across the WAL community — in Adelaide and beyond.

Beyond formal conferences, GCWAL has facilitated many events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing arrangements with partner organisations over its four decades of practice. What follows is a selection of past conference events.

The WAL for Change Conference

A recurring gathering of practitioners, academics and organisational leaders, held in Adelaide, South Australia, part of a longer history of knowledge sharing across the WAL community.

Practitioners, academics and industry leaders gathered to share insights on Work-Applied Learning, through keynotes, panel discussions and workshops on organisational change with WAL.
Participants explored organisational transformation through applied learning, with case studies of Action Research and Action Learning from a range of industries.
Presentations focused on the growing body of practitioner research from WAL programmes, and the role of reflective practice in professional development.
Practitioners and researchers explored leadership development through work-based projects, team performance, and knowledge management.
Work-applied learning practitioners, researchers, and organisational leaders came together to share research, exchange ideas and build connections across the WAL community, a gathering that has continued in various forms since.
